Congregation Ahavath Beth Israel has many groups that provide wonderful opportunities for our congregation to do mitzvahs, good deeds, and perform tikkun olam, repair of the world. Volunteer in the garden, provide meals for the sick or unhoused, even care for the dead, there are many ways to become involved at CABI. Here is a partial list of ways you might want to help:
CABI Community Garden - CABI has dedicated a corner of its campus to a community garden. Plots are made available in the early spring. For more information click here Community Garden or contact Lawrence Shapiro here.
Chicken Soup Group - This group dedicates its time to helping support the sick and homebound with meals. Want to help out? Contact the Head Hen at (TBD) or info@cabi-boise.org
Friendship Feast - Each month CABI members participate in an interfaith effort to feed the hungry in the greater Boise Community. Friendship Feast appreciates donations. If you would like to volunteer, please email Joe Levitch here OR click here to sign up to bring items.
Chevra Kadesha - The greatest act of giving is to give to those who do not know who gave and can not return the gift. So the act of caring for the dead is a great honor. Our dedicated Chevra Kadesha cares for the bodies of the deceased with love and respect, preparing them for burial. For more information please contact office@cabi-boise.org
Teens - CABI has a very active and growing teen organization, CABIT. Check out what they are up to by following the link.
Cooperative Pre-school - CABI is proud to provide space to the Boise Cooperative Preshool.
