Shalom Jewish Journeys Families

Here are a few reasons to enjoy your neighbor’s Christmas tree as you light your Chanukia this year.  Chanuka begins December 24.

Religious school will be on break beginning next week; we will resume Wednesday,  January 4, 2017.

This week at school:

*Family B’nai Mitvah class5:30 – 6:30 in the Rabbi’s office.
*We have to say shalom and good luck to Sammy (Gan) and Sarah (Kitah Bet) Moncarz.  The family is moving to the east coast for work and family.
*Tzdakah – We’ve really seen an increase in participation! Thanks! It’s a mitzvah to bring a little donation to class each week and another way to reinforce the values we are teaching this year.

*Bad weather? I’ll send an email and change the message on the CABI main phone. Generally, we’ll follow the Boise School District’s call.
*Lost and Found – Please check in the box in the foyer.  All items left after Wednesday night, December 14, will be donated to our clothing drive.

Upcoming and Save the Date:

*Havdallah and Basketball-ah at College of Idaho Saturday evening, Dec. 17.  Details on the CABI website, or here (our CABI FB page) Free tickets! But please rsvp on one of the sites.  Our CABI member and friend, Scott Garson, is the award winning coach.  Let’s go have fun and support him and his team.
*Dec. 24, CABI/Interfaith Sanctuary Christmas Eve dinner.

If you can donate food, help mash potatoes, or transport food, please sign up
here.  Great and easy job for teens with cars
*The Cooperative Preschool (http://www.cooperativepreschool.org/) Director, Anne Cirillo, will be holding an open house for CABI families January 11 at 5:30 p.m.  The school takes children 1 year to 5 years old.  Wait list is open.  If you have questions for Anne, email her at director@cooperativepreschool.org

*Under the Tent of Abraham camp – June 26 – 30, 2017.  Ages 6 – 15.

Registration coming soon.

Parents of Teens:

We are so lucky to have a new assistant teen advisor, Geoff Tamayo, who will be helping me work with CABITs.  Look for more from (and about) Geoff in January.
