June Adult Learning Opportunities

Summer Brown Bag Book Group—Wednesdays, 6:00-8:00 pm
Starting June 1; meets at 7:00 pm on June 8
We’ll be reading and discussing Aviya Kushner’s The Grammar of God: A Journey into the Words and Worlds of the Bible. To participate, please sign up with Haya Kinberg: alicekinberg@gmail.com. There is no fee to join the discussion, but we ask you to purchase the book.

For more detailed information, click here. You may also contact Elisabeth Sonersen: marsupial3@aol.com or Sandy Berenter: berenterlaw@cableone.net with any questions.  Sponsored by CABI’s Adult Education and Ritual Committees. Location: CABI Social Hall.

Talmud Study—Tuesdays, noon-1:00 pm
June 7, 14, 21, and 28 (final class until fall)
For beginners and veterans alike, led by Rabbi Dan.  We will discuss passages that touch on contemporary concerns, and learn more about the Talmud and why it continues to be the central text of our tradition.  Bring a brown-bag lunch to these weekly sessions. Location: CABI Library.

Please note:
June will be the last month for our Talmud study class. Talmud study, and the rest of Rabbi Dan’s adult learning classes which concluded in May, will be on summer hiatus in July and August, resuming in the fall. If you want to suggest, organize, or lead a class for 5777 (2016-17) please contact Rabbi Dan: rabbidan@cabi-boise.org or Adult Learning chair Sandy Berenter: berenterlaw@cableone.net.
